Engaging with World Book Day – Thursday 3rd March

As part of World Book Day today my daughter’s school are having a non-uniform day based on the theme of bugs or insects.  The idea is to inspire them to become book worms or book bugs and to develop an enjoyment of reading. 

So, using my daughter’s ideas, we converted an old fabric hat into a ladybird by using scraps of felt, googly eyes and bendy straws that we painted black.  Even better, these were things that were lying around the house, so no cost too.  Here is the finished result which my daughter is really pleased with:-
